![]() He was funny, a good story teller, an interesting excitement concerning the safe house in general. There were thick strips of fat running through it that really turned me off of my meal.ĥ- the bar tender was great. Honestly, this is the first time I have ever felt offended in this manner.Ĥ- the prime rib French dip was far from my favorite. Greater sensitivity is needed to these issues. This (and any other racially derived acting) should be removed from the potential options. I was deeply offended and unable to really put to words my thoughts. The amount of cultural ignorance to ask someone to do this is extreme. This exchange should have never happened. ![]() As a Native American, I simply said, “I will not do that.” She humphed and let us in. She requested that we hop in a circle and make noises and hand gestures to imitate native peoples during the days of the American frontier. Sadly, we didn’t know the password and we needed to do something to prove we were friendly spies to be entered in. Really kinda neat, and unexpected.ģ- we were greeted by a woman in character and really doing a great job making it silly. So sad.1st- really cool feel and gimmick for a restaurant with enough little gadgets and hidden fun to make every experience unique.Ģ- it was a confusing place to find which plays into the intrigue. I read so much cool stuff about Safe House, but this place reeks of an abandoned amusement park eatery. Because it was set up for non-HD, the sides of the image were cut off by the projector. They had a playoff baseball game playing on a very old projection-style screen. You'd think a bartender at a place like this would play along with the spy theme, but he just seemed like a regular bartender. Mine wasn't properly strained, so it had ice in it. We sat at the bar and the bartender made us some martinis that tasted more like Kool-Aid. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. Just a dimly lit bar with tons of James Bond posters on the wall. I'd read about puzzles at the table or games available to play. Then, a bookcase opened and we were able to enter the bar. My girlfriend and I had to "pat down" each other for weapons, then do five jumping jacks. When you arrive, you are forced to complete a silly task if you don't know the password to enter. The premise is promising: A cool spy-themed bar. I bet this place was great 20 years ago when management might have given a damn. I didn't get a chance to enjoy any drinks at the bar as I was driving that night, but maybe next time I can check out their drink selection as their bar area looked fun as well. I would like to go back since my children and hubby haven't been there and they want to go, I just hope the next time the door person is more friendly. The walls are covered in all kinds of cool spy stuff and you can go exploring while you wait for your food or afterwards. The food was pretty good, served in a timely fashion and not expensive. She really got into her role and you could tell she enjoyed her job, and she made my birthday dinner with my friends a lot of fun. She was just amazing, I wish I could remember her name now, because she was terrific and she was so much fun. I am glad I gave it a chance after the experience with the door girl because our waitress made up for it. We talked about walking out right there, but I wasn't sure if that was suppose to be part of the act or if this girl was just having a rough day and I wanted to check this place out so we stayed. The people in front of us gave us a wide eyed look and shook their heads. ![]() So I smiled and said "Pardon me?" and in a very snotty tone she barked, "I said, 2nd group to the bottom of the stairs until I call you up here!" and then rolled her eyes at us. Upon entering, we walked up the stairs (like 4 stairs and then a landing) and the door girl gave us a dirty look and mumbled something we could not hear. The entrance is pretty small and you have to stand there while preforming your tricks before you are allowed to enter, there was a couple of people that had just entered before us and since this was our first time we were not really sure what to expect or do. My only gripe about this place (and why I gave it 3 stars instead of 4) is that the door girl was rude to us upon entering. It was fun to watch them on the screen when I was let into the bar and they weren't until they preformed silly antics to get in. My friends didn't have the password to get in, but I did because I looked it up online before I went lol. ![]() I went with 2 girlfriends for my birthday dinner 10/03/14 around 5 00 pm. ![]()
